What is community nutrition?
Broken down and simply put nutrition is food, or the nourishment your body requires. A community is a group of people living together in one place.  Community nutrition is the effect of the environment, food, food systems and nutrition on a community's nutritional health.

Community nutrition includes many different activities and programs designed to provide access to safe, adequate, and healthful diets to specific population in a particular geographic area. Some of these programs include: nutrition education, nutrition and health promotion, food and supplement programs, and preventative programs.

A community nutritionist will assess community nutrition needs and implement policies and interventions in order to improve nutritional well-being. They will work with and guide community members to agencies providing these services.
